Posters
Posters for theatrical performances were the very first thing I had a hand in designing. I love working with layers and colour and creating something eye-catching, whilst also remembering the importance of getting the pertinent information across. In designing a poster I often inadvertently design a mini-brand or identity, which ends up being used throughout a promotional campaign and even a performance.
My first lesson in marketing came from my dad, who said you must always have three elements – what is it, where is it and when is it. I always bear this in mind when designing a poster, and more often than not two more elements, how much and how to book. Designing posters is probably my favourite work as it’s quick, contained information, and yet allows for the most amount of creativity.
